BRIEF BITS

i really liked the light in the studio this morning ~ 7am with snowfall outside. i’m getting things ready in the space for making a series of huge paintings for april. 20 of them. yep. a painting every three days……….

this shows how much of a hoarder i am though: i found these doors and figured, well, they are beautiful. so i minus well stash them in my studio just in case they come in useful? everything in my studio is BLACK, GRAY, WHITE and GOLD….i don’t know if this is just coincidence or not….

and that thing on the right is me just trying to figure out colors before i launch into 6 foot paintings and lose control of what i’m doing….this new body of work is going to be so, so, so abstracted. maybe it’ll be a good thing. right now i’m just trying to figure out how to make earth tones not all go completely gray as i lighten them. oxymoron to some extent.
